Cessna Pilot Center

Bill Molloy (CFI, CFII, MEI, AGI)
Flight Instructor

I was born in Washington D.C. and raised in San Diego California where I was first introduced to aviation. At the age of 15 I soloed in gliders and at 18 I earned my Private Pilots license. At that point I was hooked on aviation. But because of the times, with the Vietnam War going on I felt an obligation to join the military. Before my time in the military was over, I had spent 12 years in the U.S.A.F. and had been a Production Supervisor on the F4E fighter along with 4 years as a Master Technical Instructor on various aircraft RADAR's. After departing the Air Force I was hired at General Dynamics Convair Division in San Diego as a Production Supervisor on the Tomahawk Cruise Missile during the first gulf war, and a couple of years later I was promoted to General Supervisor on the building of the MD-11 fuselage, all along trying to fly when I could. By 1993 my wife and I moved to the Reno area so that she could pursue a graduate degree while I worked for several companies in the capacity as Plant Manager, all along, again, trying to fly when I could. In the last few years I have been fortunate enough to complete the required certificates and ratings to become a flight instructor, and I enjoying every bit of it. I would just like to add, don't let age be the sole determining factor in not achieving goals in life. It's never too late to learn.
